✒️ It's time to share your thoughts! 🔊

The European Commission recently launched the public consultation on "VAT in the digital age".

The consultation covers how tax authorities can use technology to fight against tax fraud while benefiting businesses, and on whether the current VAT rules are adapted to business activities in the digital age.

A legislative proposal is foreseen for 2022 on ‘VAT in the digital age’, which will cover:
- VAT reporting obligations and e-invoicing
- VAT treatment of the platform economy
- single EU VAT registration.

The consultation will be open for feedback until 17 February 2022.

DigitALL event | CEF eInvoicing workshop: Dive into the Digital Europe Programme and discover eInvoicing Success Stories.

The CEF eInvoicing workshop was held on 20 April 2021 online. This session was the opportunity for eInvoicing stakeholders to discover CEF eInvoicing Success Stories in the public and private sectors. Additionally, Irena Rivière-Osipov (EU eInvoicing policy owner) shared information about the new Digital European Programme.  

This interactive webinar was an opportunity to ask your questions and to know more about: 

  • "eInvoicing Boost for Croatia - Eibc" presented by Maja
    Radišič-Žuvanić,     Head of Digital Economy Services, Croatian Ministry of Economy.  

  • The project "Estonia/Latvia (Invoicegate.com)" introduced by Andres Lilleste, Regional Coordinator at UnifiedPost, Estonia.  

  • Padraig Hartes, Lecturer at It Sligo and Project Coordinator presented the "Promoting uptake of eInvoicing in Ireland" project under the Ireland perspective.

THE EUROPEAN STANDARD

The European Parliament and Council adopted Directive 2014/55/EU, establishing the European standard. The recent publication of the European Standard on eInvoicing in the Official Journal of the European Union marks the beginning of the implementation phase of the standard.

The Directive mandates an 18-month implementation period after the publication of the standard, with 18 April 2019 fixed as the deadline for this.

The eInvoicing User Community space enables stakeholders involved and interested in cross-border eInvoicing, to discuss eInvoicing in the EU public and private sectors.
