Manus Hanratty worked for over thirty years in the ICT sector in Ireland and the US. He was responsible for setting up several Irish subsidiaries of US based multinationals including Lotus (IBM), Netscape and AOL. He has significant experience in all aspects of leadership and management, IT and Internet technology development, Human Resources and Finance. He is an expert in business strategy formulation and change management. He has a B.Sc. in Computer Science (Queens University, Belfast), M.Sc. in Management Practice (Trinity College, Dublin) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Conflict Resolution Studies (Trinity College, Dublin).
Over the past ten years he has also worked in the NGO sector providing leadership and strategic management expertise including guidance and mentoring in the development of strategies, multi-year operation plans, organisation growth and diversification. He currently serves on the board and executive committee of FIT Ltd, a Dublin based government/industry partnership engaged in ICT training and subsequent job placement for disadvantaged people. Fit Ltd has secured jobs for thousands for FIT graduates throughout Ireland over the past thirteen years. He is currently researching the feasibility of further rapid development of the FIT “training for employment” model across the EU.
He is an active practitioner in the eInclusion sector with extensive ICT experience and working with people disadvantaged through socio-economic status, ill health/disabilities and political conflict. He is a strong advocator and expert in eInclusion activities and promotes their related positive social impact. He is currently participating in the MIREIA case study project.
