Understanding HIV resistance through computational modelling

An international team of researchers lead by Prof. Peter Sloot of the University of Amsterdam, describes in the June 1 issue of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A how a new computational approach allows them to understand the resistance of the HIV virus. Through a unique combination of detailed multi-scale computer simulations and context sensitive text mining the researchers open new ways to improve the medication for complex viral diseases.
