The Future Internet Public -Private Partnership (FI-PPP) organised a number of activities at Campus Party 2013 in London, 3-6 September 2013.
On the first day, the launch of the FI-LAB took place, with Commissioner Neelie Kroes, Carlos Domingo (Telefonica), Deborah Rippol (Startup Weekend), and Luis Iván Cuende (Asturix). In her speech "Creating tomorrow's Internet", Ms Kroes emphasised the need to support innovation by providing access to technologies, funding, and having the right people. Two days later, Ms Kroes illustrated the role the FI-LAB could play for Smart Cities. See more information about this session on the websites of Campus Party, Mobile Marketing, and New Europe.
FI-WARE organised several workshops, a hackathon, and distributed free t-shirts. The workshops generated a lot of interest, the hackaton had 44 submissions and 7 winners, and the handing out t-shirts caused queues.
FI-STAR was extremely active with social media, had the attention of Mr. Vint Cerf, and made some nice overview shots (see picture).
