Professor, Department of philosophy, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Director of NTNU's Programme for Applied Ethics, member of the management group of NTNU's Globalization Programme. Previous research (PhD thesis and ca 15 international, peer reviewed articles) on multicultural conflicts and global (internet) communication. Since 2000 project leader of several large research projects in applied ethics, currently on ISP-FIDE Applied Ethics: Governance of Health and Natural Resources (Norwegian Research council 2012-2015). Working group leader in two other large scale projects: “Institutional obstacles to a sustainable politics” (part of “Rights to a Green Future” funded by the European Science Foundation 2011-2015) and “Ethical valuation in agricultural land governance” (part of “Frogs, fuel, finance or food? Cultures, values, ethics, arguments and justifications in the management of agricultural land” (FORFOOD), funded by the Norwegian Research Council 2013-2016), starting February 1, 2013. Additionally, ongoing NTNU project "Dialogues on Aquaculture: Nature-Technology-Governance" (cooperation between philosophy, political science, biology/marine technology, economics).
