112 in Denmark

The European emergency number 112 is the only emergency number in Denmark.

The hearing and speech impaired people are provided with a number for text message communication to emergency call centres.

It is possible to call 112 from a mobile phone even without a SIM card.

112 calls are answered on average within 13 seconds.

In addition to Danish, the calls are answered in English, Swedish and Norwegian.

According to the latest  E-communications household and telecom single market survey, 41% of Danes know they can use 112 everywhere in the EU.
