04 Finland Appliances for skin exposure to ultraviolet and infrared radiation. Commercial sun bed
Brand: Lumina by Hapro
Risk of skin burn. According to the tests made by the Authority the canopy of the sun bed Lumina A 30 SPr equipped with lamps Lighttech II R-UVA 120W XL and Philips Cleo 25W-S is not classified to UV type 3 determined in the standard EN 60335-2-27:2003 (IEC 60335-2-27:2002), 6 Classification.

The maximum recommended exposure time for the first session of untanned skin with UV type 3 sun bed is 5 minutes 30 seconds. With a Lumina A 30 SPr sun bed it is only 3 minutes 30 seconds. The manufacturer's marking on the device gives incorrect information about the UV type of the sun bed and consequently its UV irradiance. Only the above-mentioned lamp combination was tested. So all the other possible lamp configurations should be also tested appropriately.
Compulsory replacement of the lamps. In Finland only UV type 3 sun beds are in use
(Decree of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health on the Limitation of Public Exposure to Non-ionising Radiation (294/2002), 4.4.2002.)
