15 February 2010 – Commissioner Vassiliou opened EU studies fair
I have opened the 11th EU Studies Fair in Brussels this weekend. Organised by the European Voice newspaper, the event brought together prospective post-graduate students from across Europe and exhibitors from academic institutions offering courses in EU Studies, International Relations, Business and Law.
Higher education will be one of my major priorities during my term of office. To compete successfully in the global marketplace, we need to equip our young people with the necessary skills. The quality of higher education is crucial.
My message to students is to seize the opportunities which are out there and to take advantage of Commission programmes like Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus, which support learning mobility and exchanges.
