Santiago Climate Change Conference (COP 25)

02/12/2019 - 13/12/2019

The 2019 UN climate change conference (COP25) will be held from 2 to 13 December in Santiago, Chile. The EU and its Member States will take part as Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Side events at EU Pavilion

The EU Pavilion will host a broad set of side events to stimulate debate on key thematic areas by engaging observers and facilitating dialogue with party delegates and other participants.

Stakeholder organisations can apply for a side event slot.

Due to the limited amount of slots, applicants will have to choose from a set of pre-defined topics in order to build their proposals. We strongly suggest for the submissions to be inclusive, by incorporating several organisations/stakeholders that can be representative of the topic or sector addressed, and covering current and/or emerging issues for climate change.

The applicants will be informed on the outcome by the end of September and the final programme will be published around mid-October.

General information

Like at previous conferences, the European Union aims to offer to all interested organisations a space to organise side events during the 2 weeks of COP25.

While we are still awaiting a confirmation from the organisers, we expect to be able to offer about 100 slots of 90 minutes each. The rooms should hold 80-100 seats and are offered free of charge, with all relevant equipment.
