The 2017 UN climate change conference (COP23) will be held from 6 to 17 November in Bonn, Germany, under the Presidency of Fiji. The EU and its Member States will participate as parties to the UN climate change convention.
The Pavilion of the European Union in Bonn will host a series of side events to stimulate the debate on key thematic areas, engage observers and facilitate the dialogue with party delegates and other participants.
The application period is now closed.
Applications received by the deadline will be assessed according to their relevance, international dimension and overall quality. Late applications will be put in a reserve list.
In case the number of applications exceeds the number of available slots only one application per Party/Observer organisation will be considered. The European Union may also ask applicants to combine their application with others into a single event.
The selection outcome and the provisional slot of successful applicants will be communicated in the first half of October.
Side events are located within the conference venue, in the BONN zone, dedicated to climate action events, media events and exhibits. Therefore, all organisers/participants must be duly registered through a Party or an Observer organisation and in possession of a conference badge relevant for the zone "Bonn" in order to be granted access to the conference venue. The European Commission is not able to provide accreditation, except on specific cases.
No accreditation for the BULA zone (plenary rooms, negotiation and delegation offices) will be provided.
