The annual climate conference, known as the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), will take place in Marrakech, Morocco. The 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties and the 12th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol will be held from 7 to 18 November.
The Commission presented in the stakeholder meeting the inception impact assessment for the initiative on Monitoring Heavy Duty Vehicles' fuel consumption and CO2 emissions with a view to improving purchaser information and CE Delft presented the draft final report prepared for DG CLIMA of a supporting study on Monitoring heavy-duty vehicles’ CO2 emissions and their costs - An assessment. The meeting was chaired by DG CLIMA and some 70 participants representing EU Member States, the automotive industry (original equipment manufacturers and component suppliers), transport operators, the logistics sector, non-governmental organisations and the European Environment Agency took part.

Some 90 participants representing the automotive industry (original equipment manufacturers and component suppliers), EU Member States and non-governmental organisations took part. The meeting was co-chaired by DG GROW and DG CLIMA and presentations covered the conclusions of the draft final report prepared by TNO, TUV Nord and ICCT.
