Organisation and implementation of training activities on strengthening Member States' response to Union audits under the "Better Training for Safer Food" initiative

Deadline for application: 27 September 2013
Identifier: EAHC/2013/BTSF/10

Published on: 25.7.2013

The present call for tender covers the organisation and implementation of training activities on strengthening Member States' response to Union audits.

The contractor will organise and implement 18 two-day training courses. Each course will be linked to the scope of the relevant overview reports. Broadly the areas to be addressed are: food of animal origin, food of non-animal origin, animal health, animal welfare, plant health, residues, import controls, animal nutrition/ABP/TSE, organic farming and agricultural quality schemes. However, the course may focus on more specific aspects of the relevant legislation in line with the overview report.

The objective of the seminars is to engage the MS in detailed discussion of the findings and conclusions of the audits, in particular:

  • to take ownership of the findings and conclusions of the audit series and to use them to improve their official control activities;
  • to gain an understanding of good practices and how they might be extended to other MS, possibly with some modification to reflect different structures and organisation of controls;
  • to discuss weaknesses and recurring problems with a view to identifying possible root causes and solutions to remedy or alleviate the problems.
