EAHC is re-launching the EAHC/2012/BTSF/09 call for organisation and implementation of training activities in third countries to strengthen their capacity to participate actively in the work of International Standard-Setting Bodies under the Better Training for Safer Food initiative.

The call has been modified by decreasing the foreseen total number of participants, from 200 to 160 trained participants. This results in a higher budget available per participant.

The present call for tender covers the organisation and implementation of training activities in third countries to strengthen their capacity to participate actively in the work of International Standard-Setting Bodies. These training sessions, organised in the form of workshops, will be carried out in different regions of the world and they will be addressed to staff of competent authorities in these countries responsible respectively for Codex issues (Codex Contact Points), animal health issues (OIE delegates) and plant health issues (IPPC delegates).

The training courses will focus on the following fields:

  • Course 1: Effective participation in Codex activities;
  • Course 2: Effective participation in OIE activities;
  • Course 3: Effective participation in IPPC activities.

The contractor will be requested to organise and implement a total of 7 3-day training sessions in accordance with the following instructions:

  • 3 sessions for Course 1;
  • 2 sessions for Course 2 and 3.

The total number of participants will be approximately 280 globally of which the estimated number of supported participants will be approximately 160 globally.
