ORIGEN JEREZ 2019

The Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Wine (first PDO created in Spain), Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda Wine and Vinagre de Jerez PDOs can be found within a common region, the so-called 'Marco de Jerez', in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, which offers stand-out quality products. The project joining these products is aimed to boost the level of knowledge and recognition of the EU PDO quality seal, which is very low in Europe and in the countries where the initiatives will be implemented: Spain and the Netherlands.

The existence and meaning of the EU quality schemes PDO and PGI are at large not very known to the Spanish comsumers. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to increase awareness, value and appreciation of quality schemes PDO and PGI among the Spanish consumers. This campaign wants to inform consumers about these European schemes. It is also important to show how they are produced according to the European production model and to display their uniqueness. PDO and PGI schemes are ORIGIN, TRADITIONS, QUALITY and GUARANTEES.

TOP TALES

The project aims at improving the awareness of end consumers from US and China towards top quality products from Italy. An active storytelling strategy will guide target groups in discovering some of the most typical PDO products, that carry with themselves centuries of agricultural traditions and an inner quality certified by the European PDO quality scheme. A perfect match between wine and food will be promoted with a strong focus on Ho.Re.Ca., as the main channel to promote EU products consumption on these target countries.

This programme aims to increase awareness of European quality labels PDO-PGI (Protected Denomination of Origin & Protected Geographical Indication) in mainland China and Taiwan, focusing on three complementary ‘star’ products: Marennes Oléron oysters PGI, Chablis wines PDO and Charentes-Poitou butter PDO.
