If you are an applicant or a beneficiary of an EU-funded grant for Promotion measures concerning agricultural products, and plan a co-financed campaign in mainland China, please consider the application of a particular local law that impacts trade associations and producer associations. The ‘Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Administration of Activities of Overseas Nongovernmental Organizations in the Mainland of China’ was adopted by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee on 28 April 2016, and is in force since 1 January 2017. It may have an impact on trade associations and producer associations who are beneficiaries of EU-funded grants for Promotion measures concerning agricultural products implemented in mainland China.

The Commission services have prepared a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) concerning the law, together with answers drafted to the Commission’s best knowledge on the subject. We would like to underline that the European Commission is not responsible for providing any interpretation of laws applicable in third countries.
