WHAT A WONDERFUL BEEF

The Interprofessional Agro-alimentary Organization of Beef (PROVACUNO) is an organization that was constituted in Spain in 2014. PROVACUNO represents approximately 85% of the sector in Spain, both the producing branch, and the industrial / processing branch, which indicates the high level of representativeness in the Spanish sector and the high scope and impact of information and promotion programmes. It is important to highlight the significance of the sector, as the livestock area creates 80,000 to 100,000 jobs, whereas the area of manufacturing accounts for about 280 slaughterhouses and around 140 cutting plants, with 15,000 direct jobs. To this must be added another 140,000 indirect jobs.

The target products of the programme are products of the beef sector, 02.01 and 02.02, including fresh and chilled beef products, offal in 02.06 and 02.10.20, and dried, salted and brined cow products, among others.

The general objectives of the programme are to:

Increase product awareness, establish a high degree of product relevance, increase product preference, increase the market share of Union agricultural products, and increase the number of exporting companies in the EU.

The selected target markets are: United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

The actions chosen for the program are:

  • Public Relations Services
  • Digital and social media
  • Online and on-site advertising
  • Events such as meetings with distributors
  • Trips to Europe and fairs.


This plan has been structured through a total budget of: EUR 2 250 148.14, divided as follows:

  • Year 1: EUR 733 322.66;
  • Year 2: EUR 765 325.85;
  • Year 3: EUR 751 499.63.

According to the countries, the budget is divided as follows:

  • Saudi Arabia: EUR 653 571.66;
  • UAE: EUR 637 563.69;
  • Hong Kong: EUR 478 967.46;
  • Vietnam: EUR 480 100.21.
