μRALP Project – improving robot-assisted laser phonomicrosurgery on the larynx
Beskrivning

The project was designed to improve the safety, efficiency and quality of laser phonomicrosurgery, a set of surgical techniques used to treat minute abnormal growths in the larynx.

Resultat

Micro-robotic tools have been developed which help surgeons with precision tasks, thereby reducing fatigue and improving the outcome for the patient. It will soon be possible to remove tumours with minimal damage to healthy tissue. The surgical techniques developed can be adapted for use in treating other types of cancer.
