Value added tax: VIES (VAT Information Exchange System) upgraded to offer more online information to businesses
The Commission's VIES site enabling companies to obtain instantaneous confirmation of the VAT numbers of their trading partners has been upgraded and now offers more information for certain Member States than before: when you verify a VAT identification number via our http://europa.eu/vies, where the validation is positive, the name and address of the taxable person is displayed for the following countries:
- Belgium
- Estonia
- Finland
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Sweden
- Slovenia
For the Czech Republic, the name only is shown.
From May 1st, all 25 Member States’ VAT identification numbers can be validated.
The European Commission maintains this website to enhance access by taxable persons making intra-Community supplies to verification of their customers’ VAT identification numbers. Our goal is to supply instantaneous and accurate information. A real time response is obtained for any user querying an EU VAT number in a specified EU country.

Le site Internet de la Commission permettant à des entreprises d'obtenir instantanément la confirmation de la validité des numéros de TVA de leurs partenaires commerciaux a été amélioré et offre maintenant plus d'information qu'avant pour certains Etats Membres : lorsque vous vérifiez la validité d'un numéro d'identification de TVA par l'intermédiaire de notre site Web, (http://europa.eu/vies), lorsque la validation est positive, le nom et l'adresse de la personne imposable sont affichés pour les pays suivants :
- Belgique
- Estonie
- Finlande
- Lettonie
- Lituanie
- Suède
- Slovénie
Pour la République Tchèque, seul le nom est affiché.
A partir du 1er mai, les numéros d'identification TVA des 25 Etats Membres pourront être validés.
La Commission européenne maintient ce site Web pour augmenter l'accès, à toute personne imposable faisant des approvisionnements intra-communautaires, à la vérification des numéros d'identification de la TVA de leurs clients. Notre but est de fournir l'information de manière instantanée et précise. Une réponse en temps réel est fournie pour n'importe quel utilisateur vérifiant un numéro de TVA dans un pays donné de l'UE.

Mehrwertsteuer: MIAS (MwSt.-Informationsaustauschsystem) bietet künftig mehr Online-Information für Unternehmen
Das von der Kommission eingerichtete MwSt.-Informationsaustauschsystem (MIAS), welches Unternehmen die umgehende Validierung der Mehrwertsteuernummern von Geschäftspartnern erlaubt, wurde verbessert und bietet nunmehr im Hinblick auf einige Mitgliedstaaten wesentlich mehr Information als bisher: Wenn Sie eine Mehrwertsteuernummer auf unserer Webseite (http://europa.eu/vies) überprüfen, dann erhalten Sie ab sofort im Falle einer positiven Rückmeldung auch Namen und Adresse des Steuerpflichtigen für die folgenden Länder:
- Belgien
- Estland
- Finnland
- Lettland
- Litauen
- Schweden
- Slowenien
Für die Tschechische Republik wird lediglich der Name des Steuerpflichtigen angezeigt.
Ab 1. Mai können die MwSt.-Identifikationsnummern aller 25 EU-Staaten validiert werden.
