Instructions

1st: Choose a map mode

Choose a map mode to find out the amount of jobs or income supported by EU exports —in the EU (blue) or in the Rest of the World (orange). Countries’ colour intensity depend on the amount of jobs/income (the more, the darker)

2nd Choose an exporting country

By default, EU flag is selected. Mouse-over a country to know the amount of jobs/income that were supported/generated in that country by the total exports of the EU27 (Croatia not included) to the Rest of the world.

Choose a flag to find out the impact of such country’s exports. Then, mouse-over as explained before.

The word “Income” can be associated to “Value Added” as in the DG JRC /TRADE report: EU exports to the World: Effects on Employment and Income.

Country fiches

By clicking once on a given EU country, a summary fiche of the country will pop up. Here you can compare some of the 1995 and 2011 data.

About

EU Member States export goods and services all around the World. These exports generate jobs and income not only in the exporting countries but also elsewhere. For instance, Germany exports automobiles to Japan, but many of the cars' parts are produced in other countries, supporting and generating jobs and value added in those economies.
