2015 Annual Report on trafficking and smuggling in human beings: Tightening the Links

The aim of this annual report is to provide an independent assessment of developments in and results of the fight against the trafficking and smuggling of human beings. It focuses on minor and young adult victims in two particularly vulnerable situations: on the one hand the victims of early and forced marriages, on the other the victims of loverboys. 



Managing the risk of hidden forced labour – a guide for companies and employers

The Danish Centre against Human Trafficking has prepared the guidelines which serve as a quick guide for companies and employers risking to become associated with forced labour and severe labour exploitation.

The guidelines have been prepared in consultation with a number of different stakeholders and is intended as an awareness, business risk management and practical prevention tool.

The High Court ruled that Gardaí failed to identify a victim of human trafficking, resulting in the imprisonment of a trafficked woman in Mountjoy for two and a half years.


Call for proposals on the Actions addressing Trafficking in Human Beings, in particular the integration and the safe and sustainable return of victims of trafficking

A call for proposals on actions addressing trafficking in human beings has been published on 16 December 2015.

The call is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).

Deadline for submission of applications: 25/2/2016 12:00 (CET) (deadline extended on 12/2/2016; previous deadline was 16/02/2016).

Project applications submitted under the present Call for Proposals must address at least one of the following priorities:

Study on case-law on trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation

Aim of this study was to identify case law relating to THB for the purpose of labour exploitation in Member State and analyse Member State practice with respect to prosecution of this crime. 

The case-law analysis also provides an indication of how national legislation transposing Directive 2011/36/EU is applied, without prejudice to the Commission's work on monitoring the transposition of the Directive.
