Objectives and results
Trafficking in Human Beings (THB) by Chinese Organised Crime Groups (OCG's) is identified as a very serious problem in the EU. China is one of the two top countries of victims in the EU, with non-EU citizenship. Chinese nationals without residence permit, being very vulnerable, are forced to go into illegality and in most cases are being exploited sexually and/or in the field of labour. The major objectives of the project are operational oriented:
- To improve the knowledge and intelligence picture on the phenomenon (sexual and labour exploitation).
- To enhance the process of identification of the organised crime groups.
- To increase the numbers of investigations and prosecutions of OCG's on Chinese THB.
- To increase the number of identified and protected victims.
