Action Oriented Paper on strengthening the EU external dimension against trafficking in human beings
Council of the European Union - Action Oriented Paper on strengthening the EU external dimension on action against trafficking in human beings, (19/ 11/2009- 11450/5/09 REV 5), 92 pages
The aim of the Action Oriented Paper (AOP) is to strengthen the commitment and coordinated action of the EU and the Member States to prevent and fight all forms of trafficking in human beings. This will be done in partnership with third countries, regions and organisations at the international level. It is based on the recognition that in order to effectively address trafficking in human beings, an integrated, holistic and multidisciplinary approach is needed, having as its basis respect for human rights and the rule of law, including a gender and child rights perspective.
The Action Oriented Paper largely reflects the conclusions of the Ministerial conference Towards EU Global Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, held on the occasion of the third annual Anti-Trafficking Day.
