Together Against Trafficking in Human Beings

EASO Expert Meeting on the Identification of victims of Trafficking in Human Beings who may be in need of International Protection

EASO Expert Meeting on the Identification of victims of Trafficking in Human Beings who may be in need of International Protection

The meeting will be organised back to an EASO meeting on “Trafficking of Children  and on Family Tracing” (7th (9:30-17:00) - 8th (9:30-12:30) May 2015) and both meetings will share a common session  (7th of May in the morning) on “The Identification of Children victims of THB”. It is possible to register for both meetings.

One of EASO’s key objectives for 2015 is “Supporting better identification of vulnerable persons” (EASO Work programme 2015). In line with that, the development and of a Practical Tool on the Identification of Persons with Special Needs (including, of course, victims of THB) is one of the main initiatives of the EASO Quality team in 2015. It was also acknowledged during the first expert meeting held in 2014 that the issue of “Identification” was one of the main challenges when talking about “THB and international protection procedures”.

This meeting is organized in cooperation with the European Commission and as a part of joint EU efforts to meet the common policy priorities on THB and we will count on the presence of the EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator, Ms Myria Vassiliadou.

Deadline for Registration: 17 April 2015
