School Fruit and Vegetables Scheme
School Fruit and Vegetables Scheme

This EU-wide scheme provides school children with fruit and vegetables, aiming thus to encourage good eating habits in young people. Besides providing fruit and vegetables, the scheme requires participating Member States to set up strategies including educational and awareness-raising initiatives.

2016/2017 school year is the last year of implementation of this scheme. A new school fruit, vegetables and milk scheme under a single legal framework will apply as from 1 August 2017 for greater efficiency, more focused support and an enhanced educational dimension.
