In this chapter you find analyses of the Common Agricultural Policy which looks at the effectiveness and efficiency of support mechanisms and provides the basis for the development of future policy.
Impact assessments are conducted for all major policy proposals to guide decision-makers and so improve the quality of legislation. A recent major impact assessment exercise was conducted in the framework of the legislative proposals for the CAP towards 2020.
Conferences CAP post-2013
The European Commission has organised public Conferences to provide a forum for civil society to debate the CAP reform proposals for post-2013 and to discuss the degree to which they meet the challenges identified during the public debate. The July 2012 Conference continues the broad consultation launched more than two years ago. It follows up the July 2010 Conference which provided the opportunity for discussion of the objectives of the reform.
The "Agricultural Policy Perspectives" Briefs examine the evolution of policy and direction of future CAP reform.
Analyses and Reports
On this page you will find both internal Commission reports and external reports produced for the Commission, which provide background for the analysis of the current CAP reform.
