A new online tool has been launched to help European agri-food producer organisations in their efforts to promote their products.
The new agri-food promotion portal is managed by the Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA) on behalf of the European Commission, and is a designed to be a one-stop-shop for organisations to find out how to get EU funding for their promotion programmes, search for potential programme partners and find useful information on entering new export markets.
Interested visitors will find a wealth of information on a wide range of useful topics, from the rules on developing promotional programmes to networking techniques designed to help find potential partners. They will also find all the latest information on events and campaigns organised by the Commission, mainly outside the EU, and learn how to go about joining Commissioner Phil Hogan on his high-level visits to potential new markets.
As part of his business offensive on behalf of European food and farming, Commissioner Hogan has already visited Colombia, Mexico, China, Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia; his next trip will be to Canada in May with a business delegation of around 60 organisations and enterprises. One of Commissioner Hogan's chief aims is to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to find new markets outside the EU, and the new portal is also designed to help SMEs with information about market access and market entry, protection of intellectual property rights, sanitary and phytosanitary measures (on plant and animal health), market research and other vital information for anyone looking to push their products into new export markets.
Designed to be an interactive tool, the portal will offer tailor-made webinars to help organisations design their promotion activities, and share examples of current campaigns to help inspire them. It will also allow registered organisations to find potential partners through an online 'speed dating' tool.
