The Slovenian Minister for Agriculture and the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development met today to discuss the issue of the protection of Teran.
The Slovenian government regards this issue as a closed matter since 2004, when Slovenia became a member of the EU.
The Minister brought a number of issues to the attention of the Commissioner in support of the Slovenian position.
Commissioner Hogan has agreed to consider the issues raised and to seek further clarifications from the Slovenian government in the coming weeks.
Slovenia has agreed to answer these questions and to provide legal submissions in support of their case as soon as possible.
