The Salon International de l'Agriculture (SIA) will take place from 25 February to 5 March 2017 in Paris.
The SIA attracts every year around 700 000 visitors. Besides urban audiences from the Paris area, the fair also attracts technical specialist, farmers and policy experts.
DG Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) will be present with a stand on the theme “From farm to fork - sustainable food for our future”. The EU’s added value in ensuring safe and sustainable food for all European citizens will be highlighted. There will be information and activities, not only from DG AGRI, but also from the Directorates-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Environment, Research & Innovation, Climate Action and from the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
Commissioner Phil Hogan visited SIA on 1st March where he awarded - at the European Commission (EC) stand - the 1st price winners in different categories of the “Concours générale Agricole”, namely the “Concours de Jugement des Animaux par les Jeunes” (CJAJ) and the “Concours des Jeunes Professionnels du Vin” (CJPV). On 2nd March he will visit various other stands and stakeholders and finish around 12h00 with a press point, organised by the EC representation in Paris.
