The second edition of this two-day event provided an opportunity for a broad exchange of views on the state of EU agriculture and the global challenges which lie ahead, like the environment and climate change.

During the first day, opened by Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Phil Hogan, the Conference considers the policy and political questions of agricultural sustainability and climate change, including high-level panel discussions together with EU Commissioners for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete, and for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Karmenu Vella.
The second day focused on the latest outlook for EU dairy, meat and arable crop markets for the next ten years. Published by Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development with the support of the Joint Research Centre to coincide with the conference, this Outlook Report covers the prospects for these sectors from 2016-26. The conference agenda sees a number of expert panels discussing the different sectors.
Participants included stakeholders representing EU institutions, governments and international organisations, as well as those involved in the food chain, market experts, academics and think tanks, and the broader civil society.
