Week of Young Europe initiative
The programme of the event, coinciding with the European Week of Youth in the European Capital of Culture, is running till Thursday. It is composed of dozens of debates around projects financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme and the Youth in Action Programme, as well as around experiences of young Slovenes having worked or studied abroad or participated in volunteering or youth exchanges. Results of number of cultural projects will be shown as well.
Youth on the Move has fully occupied the centre of Maribor today. In a generous sunshine, the European Capital of Culture vibrated with rock music, concerts of quires from local schools, dances and fashion shows showcasing several projects financed by Comenius and Leonardo programmes in Slovenia, but also in neighbouring Austria. Well attended debates were held about Erasmus experiences and about the virtues of cross-border mobility in general. The local youth invaded the Youth on the Move tent where EU networks were presenting their work, while seveal NGOs built their stands around it at the Leona Stuklja Square.
