Higher Options Fair

Dublin, 19-21/09/2012

The Youth on the Move Irish event opened on Wednesday the 19th of September in Dublin at the traditional Higher Options Education Fair. The place was quickly flooded with thousands of secondary school students from all over Ireland looking for future study opportunities. They listened eagerly to a lecture on Erasmus given by the Commission’s Director General for Education Jan Truszczynski and debated with him and the Irish Erasmus Ambassador Jessica Gough. The colourful programme on the stand was well received and the quiz conducted with the help of the wheel of fortune was literally under constant attack. More than 25.000 young people are expected at the fair by Friday.

The Higher Options Fair, organised by the newspaper The Irish Times, is an annual event that guides and informs students on their study and career options. It is now in its twenty-sixth year. Students can meet directly with representatives from over 160 universities, colleges and education institutions from Ireland, the UK, Europe and beyond, making it a unique and essential location for students and teachers alike.
