A youth exchange that took place in France in July 2007 involved young people aged 16-19 from 4 different countries: France, Germany, Palestinian Authority and Morocco.
The main theme of the exchange was the meeting between traditional and modern cultures.
The aim of this project was to bring together young people from different cultural and social backgrounds in order to promote mutual understanding by allowing them to discover new cultures through music and dance. The project merged two different culture trends: on the one hand, the modern and urban trend, represented by hip hop and computer-assisted music, and on the other hand, the traditional trend, represented by popular dances and songs. Participants got to know each other's cultures by discovering each other's traditional or modern dances, music and songs in different workshops. The young participants also had the opportunity to exchange with the local population of the host town (in France), thus directly experiencing intercultural dialogue. A final public dance and music show was also organised.
