This project submitted by the Italian non-governmental organisation Centro Studi ed Iniziative Europeo involves 10 partners from 10 countries: Italy, Spain, Germany, Malta, Pakistan, Indonesia, Liberia, India, Nepal and Colombia.
The priority theme chosen for the project is the fight against racism and xenophobia, coupled with recognition of cultural diversity. The aim is to identify good practices employed by youth organisations in the above countries in a bid to improve data exchange in the fight against racism and xenophobia. In particular, project partners are reviewing success stories and looking at whether they might be applicable or adaptable to other cultural contexts. These tasks are carried out by national teams, including a national coordinator who leads the national team, youth workers and young people (altogether 481 persons are involved). The outcome will be an exchange of youth workers, who will be given the opportunity to join other youth organisations. In parallel, there will be a series of local seminars involving as many young people as possible. Youth organisations made aware of the results of the project should be more open to other ways of approaching youth work and achieving better results in the fight against racism and xenophobia. The project will result in several end products suitable for dissemination, such as a video, a CD-ROM and a booklet.
