Tullaghan Together
At the start of this youth initiative project there was no provision for young people in the local area of Tullaghan, County Leitrim in Ireland.The young people formed a club and decided to take part in a project that enabled them to work with other segments of the community towards a common goal of producing a large mobile piece of art entitled ‘The Community Clock’ that represented all elements and groups within the local community.

United in Diversity – International Citizenship
In a time of fear of terrorism and Islamophobia this multicultural exchange funded under the Youth in Action Programme promoted a feeling of understanding and emphasised our similarities as human beings which affected not only the young people but continued to have ripples into the wider community, thereby proving the ideal of unity in diversity.

Premiere of the Full House Project
Full House is a youth filmmaking and international exchange project funded by the Youth in Action Programme, which has involved 45 young people from Bristol (Great Britain), Hannover(Germany) and Posnan (Poland). The UK premiere will take place on Saturday 21st November 2009 at Cinema De Lux, Cabot Circus.

Under construction
The ZOEY Foundation for Arts and Culture just finished their first Youth Democracy Project granted under the Action 1.3 of the Youth in Action Programme. The project aimed at making youngsters growing up in the outskirts of Lisbon and Utrecht more aware of democratic processes. Katerina and Kostana led this project, called ‘Under Construction’. What was their project about? What were the main differences between the Netherlands and Portugal? And did they succeed in reaching the project goals?

"Heart, keep beating" – premiere of the Youth Initiative project
"Heart, keep beating" is a moving documentary film developed as a Youth Initiative project within the Youth in Action Programme. The official premiere of the documentary film took place on October 2nd, at the Danish Cinematheque in Copenhagen.

Meet the Street – peer consultation of young people
The project Meet the Street supported under the Youth in Action Programme and implemented by European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA) developed a European consultation where youngsters, aged between 15 and 25 are interviewing, using mobile phones, non organized youngsters about different subjects they feel are important for them.

The week of Be a part of it – local Youth Parliaments Networking in Europe took place in Venice in Italy when almost 100 young people from 10 European countries debated about “their Europe” and its social issues together with experts, politicians, volunteers, etc.

European Music Week
The Glacensis Association from the town Kudowa-Zdrój in Poland invited 17 performers of classical music, namely classical singing, coming from different European countries to their town. During several days in September within the project of Activity 4.3 young people together with their professors participated in the European Music Week. They met there to gain knowledge, develop talents, exchange experiences, but also to compare their skills with the ones of their foreign counterparts.

Interreligious Dialogue
The Youth Exchange took place in Lisbon (Portugal) and brought together 46 people from 12 countries. During the 8 days of exchange the red line throughout the program was this question: "What role does religion play in our life?".

Seafearers Then and Now 5
Seafearers Then and Now 5 is a multilateral itinerant youth exchange project with 35 young people from 8 different countries (Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom). It is the successful continuation of previous youth exchange adventures that began in 2004.

A youth exchange that took place in France in July 2007 involved young people aged 16-19 from 4 different countries: France, Germany, Palestinian Authority and Morocco. The main theme of the exchange was the meeting between traditional and modern cultures.

Volunteering together : The "Roma-Gadje Dialogue through Service" initiative
Roma communities are often isolated, with little communication or understanding between them and mainstream society. The ‘Roma-Gadje Dialogue through Service’ initiative seeks to break down their marginalisation by involving non-Roma youths in projects in Roma communities and vice versa.

Group EVS Austria 2008 - European Football
A European Voluntary Service (EVS, Action 2) project coordinated by the Austrian organisation Akzente Salzburg has taken place in Austria from May to July 2008, in the framework of the Euro2008 football championships. The project (www.eurovol.at) involved 81 volunteers from 14 countries, and also made joint activities with another project, a Youth Exchange (Action 1.1) taking place in Youth centers in Vienna. Representative the European Commission have visited the project and met the young participants to discuss the experience together.
