Growing interest in the Youth in Action Programme
More and more young people from across Europe are taking advantage of various opportunities offered by the
Youth in Action Programme which was launched in 2007.

In 2008, 132, 000 youngsters and youth workers met peers from other countries, engaged in voluntary services abroad or participated in an valuable initiative – up 19% compared to 2007. Compared to 2007, 12% more projects – ca. 7,300 in total – were carried out during the year 2008 by promoters and young people themselves. Globally, less than half of the submitted projects could be implemented, mainly due to budgetary constraints (€ 137 million in 2008). More information: The Youth in Action Programme in 2008
