Active inclusion of Young people: Employment as a tool against Exclusion and Poverty
The Council adopted on the 11th of May a Resolution in order to encourage the integration of young people in the labour market.
According to this document, better inclusion of young people in society and their full and active participation in the labour market, besides access to quality education and to social protection and services, are essential tools to reduce poverty and to improve the quality of life and social cohesion. The Council resolution stresses the crucial role of young people for Europe's prosperity as well as the cross-sectoral nature of youth-related issues and emphasises that the contribution of youth policy has to be fully integrated into the Europe 2020 Strategy.
