The second cycle of Structured Dialogue with youth was successfully concluded at the EU Youth Conference hosted by the Cypriot Presidency in Nicosia on 11-13 September. The video report about the event has been just released.
More than 100 youth delegates (from Member States, Candidate Countries, the European Youth Forum and international youth NGOs) engaged in debates with senior officials from national youth ministries on the topic of "Participation and social inclusion of all young people, with a special emphasis on youth with migrant background", reflecting the national priority of Cyprus in the youth field during its presidency. The outcomes of prior consultations of young people undertaken in all Member States served as the basis for discussions in seven thematic workshops.
In a final plenary session, youth delegates and ministry officials adopted 14 Joint Recommendations
[357 KB] , which will now be reflected in Council Conclusions and a Council Resolution scheduled for adoption at the Council meeting of Youth Ministers on 23rd November.
The EU Youth Conference in Nicosia marked the third and final phase of the 18 months cycle of Structured Dialogue on the "Participation of young people in democratic life". The overall thematic priority of the next cycle of Structured Dialogue with youth will be confirmed by Youth Ministers at the Council meeting on 23rd November.
