Among the 12.000 projects supported by the EU’s YOUTH programme each year, an international jury of young people has selected outstanding examples in five different categories. The YOUTH programme allows young people to engage in youth activities such as exchanges, voluntary work and youth initiatives throughout the Union and beyond. The projects are designed to develop young peoples’ skills and abilities, make them discover other cultures and build up their knowledge of Europe and of being European. It also especially involves the most disconnected and disadvantaged.

From a shortlist of 25 nominated projects, the final five equal winners in 5 different categories are as follows:

Category 1: Active Citizenship

Category 2 : European Voluntary Service

Category 3 : Youth Information

Category 4 : Entrepreneurial Spirit

Category 5 : Fight against Racism and Xenophobia

Anyone can get involved in the YOUTH programme, the European Youth Portal is the place to go for information. It shows youngsters how they can participate and make a difference, and allows young people to get in contact with each other and exchange information and ideas.
