Their primary role is to promote and implement
the Programme at national level. They have experience with European programmes
for young people and are familiar with the relevant issues and organisations.
Each National Agency acts as a link between the
European Commission, project promoters at national, regional and local
level, and the young people themselves, and is a key contact point. The
Agencies are responsible for disseminating general information about the
YOUTH programme as well as encouraging and facilitating the establishing
of partnerships. They are also responsible for the selection of projects
according to the criteria set by the European Commission. They advise
project promoters and organise different kinds of training activities.
The National Agencies are the primary sources of information for the users
of the Programme.

For multilateral projects Romanian partners are highly welcomed, but they cannot host.
Applications from Romanian NGOs for centralised and Europewide projects are to be sent to the European Commission as usual.
