The European Commission has moved immediately to help the victims of the earthquake by providing €3 million in emergency aid, dispatching relief experts and coordinating civil protection activities and deployments of EU Member States.

20/12/2009 - Evaluation of EC support to ASEAN

The Evaluation of EC support to ASEAN concludes that the support contributed significantly to regional economic integration and has helped to foster closer trade relations. However, the programme contributed to poverty reduction without helping to close the gaps between rich and poor. It was also noted that the establishment of a Delegation in Jakarta has been positively determining for visibility and effective impacts.
