Robert Madelin, Director-General for DG CNECT, set the tone by showing a video that challenges the assumption that Europe is a thing of the past. He examined digital growth in Europe and the UK and touched on safer internet for kids, roaming charges and on infrastructure. But the audience went well beyond this. How is the Internet changing copyright? Is data mining good or not? And most passionately – are we not educating children for jobs that are now becoming obsolete.
