Representatives from Europe's regions and cities will meet in Brussels between the 4 and 7 October for the eighth European week dedicated to regional and urban development. This year the forum – Open Days 2010 – will focus on three main issues: competitiveness, cooperation and cohesion. Local, regional and national representatives will highlight their concerns and demands in the run-up to a key assessment of the current state of play – the 5th Cohesion report.

    What Europe's regions want

More than six thousand participants are expected for the 100-odd seminars and conferences with UK regions focusing on sessions about public transport, climate change, renewable energy and the growth potential in creative industries. In addition to the Brussels forum, hundreds of local events will be organised across Europe.
