On 29 January 2010, The European Commission Representation in the UK, together with King's College London, is organising the one-day conference "Explaining the Stockholm Programme: Changes and novelties on Immigration/Asylum and Criminal Justice Cooperation and their importance for the United Kingdom". The Stockholm Programme, endorsed by all member states in December 2009 for the years 2010-14, is the next five-year strategy for EU cooperation in the areas of justice and home affairs. It is the third of its kind, following the Hague (2005-09) and the Tampere (1999-2004) programmes.
