Maurice Maxwell from the European Commission Office in Northern Ireland and Jonathan Claridge from the European Commission Representation in Ireland visited the east border region on 1 May to celebrate the opening of a European economic development office in Newry to work alongside an existing facility in Dundalk.  The continuing work is covered by the historic cross-border Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Lough Local Authorities and Newry and Mourne District Council.
