Green Paper  "TEN-T : A policy review – Towards a better integrated trans-European transport network at the service of the common transport policy"

Consultation period : 04/02/2009 - 30/04/2009

Be transparent - Sign up to the European Commission's Register of Interest Representatives

Objective of the consultation

With the Green Paper, the Commission initiates a broad review process of the trans-European transport network policy (TEN-T). It considers future political and economical challenges such as the achievement of climate change objectives, further economic growth, economic and social cohesion as well as the strengthening of Europe's international role. Based on 15 years of experience with the TEN-T policy and in the light of the new challenges, the Commission sets objectives and proposes options for the future TEN-T development. It seeks the opinion of a broad range of shareholders on its proposals before deciding about legislative proposals and other relevant action to be taken. The Commission foresees, as a major legislative proposal to follow from the Green Paper process, a revision of the TEN-T Guidelines.
