This study is to provide the European Commission with the required information on the feasibility of accident data recording technology in Europe.

Relevant vehicle classes, technical specifications, harmonisation, medical and legal aspects and their impacts on prevention and traffic safety as well as the cost-benefit ratio will be examined. This study will conclude with recommendations for the European Commission.
