2nd Workshop on "Cargo securing & Technical Roadside Checks"

Dresden (Lausitz), 4-5 October 2011

Among the various obligations which are imposed on road transport, two have a very particular importance:

  • the cargo must be appropriately secured and
  • The vehicle must be maintained in a satisfactory technical condition

These two obligations obviously have a significant impact on road safety and failure to respect them can lead to very serious accidents.

During the 2nd conference on "Cargo Securing and Roadside Technical Checks", that is organised by the European Commission on 4th and 5th October in Dresden (DE) Member States' experts, enforcers and representatives of the industry in the field of road transport get the opportunity to discuss on these challenging topics.

The "roadside technical inspection" workshop will focus on the area of information exchange between Member States while the "cargo securing workshop" addresses a more harmonised control approach throughout the EU.

A practical demonstration at a roadside check, organised by Euro-Contrôle-Route, will provide deep insight into real practise to the participants.
