Commission Initiatives: Consultation Document

In October 2001, the Commission organised a hearing for organisations representing the interests of rail passengers. The report of that hearing is available here:     (, 45 KB).

The Commission services have drafted in October 2002 a Consultation Document on the Rights and Obligations of International Rail Passengers. Please note that this Consultation Document is a working document of the Commission's services, and it does not commit the Commission in any way. This working paper has been sent to stakeholders, such as organisations of passengers and consumers; railway undertakings and international associations for comments and observations. The latter should provide a valuable input for a Regulation on Passengers' Rights and Obligations in International Rail Transport, which is scheduled for the end of 2002. A second hearing took place in November 2002, during which stakeholders had the opportunity to provide their comments on the Consultation Document. The report of that hearing is available here:     (, 109 KB).
