Driving change for business and people

#RoadTransportEU

Road transport is vital for the EU's economy: It carries more freight and more passengers than all other modes combined, and it provides jobs for 10.6 million people. But we have identified ways to help road transport become more efficient, fairer and cleaner. This contributes directly to the Commission's priorities of Jobs and Growth, the Digital Single Market and Energy Union.

What do we want to achieve?

"We need a strong road transport sector to respond to the needs of people and businesses. We need the sector to be more competitive and, at the same time, socially and environmentally responsible. The Road Initiatives are designed to help  meet these objectives." – Violeta Bulc, EU Transport Commissioner
