Recommendation on TACHOnet:
The latest tachograph legislation (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1266/2009 
) requires Member States to exchange electronically information in order to ensure that the tachographs are properly used to apply the social road transport rules. The Commission adopted on 13 January 2010 a Recommendation praising Member States to use the TACHOnet messaging system to exchange information on truck and coach drivers when checking tachograph cards. This Recommendation provides the necessary guidelines to implement this new requirement.
